"Synagogue-of-the-Month"Our Featured Member Synagogue for June-August 2006 is Temple B'nai Israel of Revere (Conservative) that is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary. ![]() Established in May 1906, Temple B'Nai Israel, the children of Israel, a Conservative Egalitarian congregation, is one of the oldest ongoing synagogues in Massachusetts. We are one of the few synagogues remaining in an urban setting, a stone's throw from historic Revere Beach. We are a vibrant, caring community that offers Shabbat, holiday and High Holiday services, Sunday morning adult education breakfasts featuring timely and lively discussions with Rabbi Mark Sokoll, morning minyans, a Rosh Chodesh group, holiday celebrations and a community seder. Rabbi Sokoll, celebrating his 20th year at Temple B'Nai Israel, leads the congregation with warmth and brings energy to every aspect of temple life. Our cantor, Lois Welber, is a gifted mezzo-soprano who encourages congregation participation. Her voice and innovative style highlights our Shabbat and High Holiday services. Temple B'Nai Israel welcomes prospective members to our temple family. To learn more about us, visit our website. ).
