"When the Covid 19 pandemic hit, Linda Skolnik sprang into action. Linda, who founded and coordinates the Hineni Connecting Team which provides opportunities for connection for isolated, ill, and homebound members, immediately realized how isolating the pandemic might be. She collaborated with a group of leaders to form the Emunah Social Connecting Initiative which mobilized Emunah members to make phone calls to every single congregant to check in on their needs and to find out what support they had, and what support they needed. Volunteers from that initiative have helped with grocery shopping, pharmacy pick-up and other errand requests, fostered support networks among congregants, and made follow-up phone calls to make sure that our most isolated members know they are not alone. Throughout it all, Linda has further continued to build new one-on-on partnerships between members and to coordinate socially distanced visits and phone calls with our older membership who are alone and lonely during this time period."
