Rabbi Richard Perlman

Temple Ner Tamid, Peabody

Rabbi Richard Perlman

"Rabbi Perlman was the first to realize temples would close due to the pandemic so he immediately set up a Zoom account to allow for virtual services in March. He taught himself not only the fine points of Zoom, but also the technology to streamline onto Facebook and YouTube. He became the expert to whom North Shore rabbis called and asked for advice. He also is the co-chair of the North Shore Rabbinical society who met with funeral directors and care takers to create funeral policies to protect officiants and families at burials. He also spearheaded an ad-hoc committee to set up procedures for re-opening the Temple when the time would be safe. I could say more."
